Advancing Equity:
Waterfront Resilience Program

The Port of San Francisco’s Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP) is leading a citywide effort to adapt the waterfront and address risks associated with sea level rise, groundwater and stormwater flooding, and earthquakes. Since 2017, InterEthnica has served as equity consultants, ensuring that community voices are centered in the process and that the adaptation strategies create an increasingly accessible waterfront.

InterEthnica developed the WRP Equity Roadmap, building on existing citywide equity frameworks and leading in-depth interviews with the San Francisco Port leadership to identify tools and actions to support achieving equitable outcomes through the life of the program.

InterEthnica convened a multi-agency Equity Working Group (EWG) to advise on the development of an Equity Evaluation Framework, a guiding tool for assessing future engagement, planning, and policy development.
