Through her multiracial, multicultural Asian American upbringing, Allison was always sensitive and cognizant of the need to champion diverse voices and linguistic/cultural heritage. This led her to become an expert multicultural communicator and strategist, focused on creating responsive government and investments in low-income communities of color, grounded in sustainability and economic justice focused policy.

Since 2008, Allison has led multilingual and innovative community engagement, facilitation, and marketing efforts, including at National Immigration Law Center, Clean Power Alliance, Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, and the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. She also co-founded an organization, People for Mobility Justice, which was the first organization to focus on cycling and communities of color, with successful adoptions of equitable policies and bike lanes. Allison speaks and writes Spanish. She earned her Bachelors’ Degree in Asian American Studies and Urban Planning from UCLA and is an adjunct professor of Public Relations at East Los Angeles College.
